1. Licensing

Annuity.com, Inc. is a licensed insurance agency.

Annuity.com, Inc.

National Producer Number (NPN): 21086345

California License No.: 6013124 (doing business as “Annuity.com Insurance Marketing”)

New York License No.: LA-1860109 (doing business as “Annuity.com Insurance Solutions”)

Licensed in all states where required by law.

Insurance products are issued by the insurance carrier, not by Annuity.com. Product availability, contract terms, and features vary by state and by carrier.

The content on this Site is provided for general educational purposes only. It is not personalized financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and it does not constitute an offer to sell or a solicitation to buy any insurance or financial product.

Annuity suitability depends on your individual circumstances, including your age, health, retirement goals, income needs, tax situation, other assets, and risk tolerance. You should consult with a licensed insurance professional, qualified tax advisor, and/or attorney before purchasing any annuity or making significant financial decisions.

3. How We Make Money

Transparency matters, especially in financial services. Here’s how our business works:

When a consumer decides to purchase an annuity through a licensed advisor in our network, the insurance carrier pays a commission to the advisor, and Annuity.com receives a portion of that commission as a referral fee.

This never costs you anything extra. Annuity commissions are paid by the insurance carrier and are already built into the product’s pricing, whether you purchase through Annuity.com, directly from the carrier, or through another licensed agent.

Our educational content, rate comparisons, and calculator tools are free and available to anyone — whether you ever purchase a product through our platform or not. We believe in earning your trust through education first.

4. Editorial Independence

Our educational content is created independently of our referral revenue. We do not allow insurance carriers, advertisers, or advisor-network partners to influence the conclusions, recommendations, or analysis in our articles, guides, or calculator tools.

For details on how our content is written, reviewed, and updated, see our Editorial Oversight & Content Standards page.

5. Independent Advisors

Advisors featured in our Find an Agent directory, and advisors who may contact you after you submit a request through the Site, are independent licensed insurance professionals. They are not employees of Annuity.com.

Each advisor is responsible for their own licensing, continuing education, compliance, and the recommendations they provide to clients. Advisors must be appropriately licensed in the state where the consumer resides in order to discuss or sell insurance products in that state.

Annuity.com does not endorse, guarantee, or assume responsibility for the specific product recommendations made by any independent advisor. You should always:

6. Rate Data and Product Information

Rate and product information published on the Site is sourced from insurance carriers and third-party data providers. While we make reasonable efforts to keep this information current:

We recommend verifying any rate or product feature with a licensed advisor and with the carrier before making a decision.

7. Guarantees and Carrier Risk

All annuity guarantees are subject to the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurance carrier. Annuities are not guaranteed by Annuity.com, any bank, or any government agency.

If an insurance carrier becomes insolvent, policyholder protection may be available through your state’s guaranty association, up to state-specific limits. These limits vary by state and by type of contract. Guaranty association coverage is not a substitute for the financial strength of a carrier, and you should not rely on it when evaluating a product.

We encourage consumers to research carrier financial strength ratings from independent rating agencies such as AM Best, S&P Global, Moody’s, and Fitch before purchasing a contract.

8. Calculators and Illustrations

Calculators on the Site — including the “What Is Your Number?” retirement income calculator, longevity calculator, and any rate comparison tools — produce illustrative estimates only.

Illustrations and estimates are not predictions or guarantees of future results. They rely on assumptions you provide (such as age, target income, and time horizon) and on generalized assumptions about market conditions, product pricing, and longevity that will not exactly match your situation. Actual outcomes will differ based on the specific product you purchase, carrier pricing at the time of purchase, interest rate environment, taxes, fees, and other factors.

Any written product illustration that a licensed advisor shares with you will contain both guaranteed and non-guaranteed values. Focus primarily on guaranteed values when evaluating a product.

9. Tax Disclosures

Annuities have specific tax treatment under U.S. federal tax law. Earnings within a non-qualified annuity are generally tax-deferred until distribution, and distributions before age 59½ may be subject to a 10% additional federal tax. Tax treatment for qualified annuities (IRAs, 401(k)s, etc.) differs and may include required minimum distributions (RMDs).

Tax laws change, and tax treatment depends on your individual circumstances. We are not tax advisors. You should consult with a qualified tax professional before making decisions that have tax consequences, including 1035 exchanges, annuitization, partial withdrawals, or beneficiary designations.

10. No FDIC or Government Backing

Annuities are not deposits. They are not insured by the FDIC or any federal government agency, and they are not guaranteed by any bank or savings association. The guarantees available under an annuity contract depend on the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurance carrier.
